Learn how it works.

Contact us and attend an online information meeting

Are you interested in the RURASMUS program and the activities of the RURASMUS Research Institute? Contact us and we will arrange an online information meeting. Define the topic.

Digital topic identification meeting

“What is a burning issue in your municipality?” or “Which community issues could use an outside look?” are questions we ask you during the topic identification phase. Or do you already have a concrete concern that might be suitable as a RURASMUS project? Together we define a topic that is compatible with the possibilities of students. With this topic we start looking for suitable candidates.

HOW CAN WE KNOW WHAT WE WANT, IF WE DON’T KNOW WHAT IS POSSIBLE?

Finalize an agreement.

Signing the research agreement

You as a future RURASMUS- municipality sign a research agreement with the RURASMUS research institute. This sets out all the framework conditions as well as, for example, the distribution of tasks and costs. With this legal framework in place, we are now officially ready to start acquiring students.

See if the chemistry is right.

Getting to know students without obligation

Interpersonal chemistry is important at RURASMUS – there must be a spark between student and municipality in terms of content and personality.  To find out whether the cooperation could work, we offer students and congregations the opportunity to get to know each other without obligation and to ask questions about the content. This is a very important step for the students and the application they have to write. At the same time, you can get an impression of your counterpart.

#5

Make decision and define goals.

Confirmation of participation and thematic workshop

You will receive all applications after the application deadline. Based on these and your impressions from the get-to-know-you meeting, you now decide which student is a good match for you. In a final online workshop, in which you, the student, his/her university supervisor and we from the RURASMUS Research Institute take part, we define the concrete content of the topic, important steps and deadlines. In this way, we ensure that the RURASMUS project is feasible for students in one semester. The findings from this workshop are incorporated into the written agreement that the student(s) must sign. Now we are ready to go!
